Is V Rising Cross-Platform? (2026 Crossplay Status)
Short answer: No, V Rising is not cross-platform. PC (Steam) and PS5 run on completely separate server pools with no crossplay and no cross-progression between them. V Rising ships on only two platforms, PC and PS5; there is no Xbox or Nintendo Switch version, and in April 2026 Stunlock Studios confirmed it has no plans to port the game to any additional platforms.

V Rising launched on PC (Windows / Steam) on May 8, 2024 and on PlayStation 5 on June 11, 2024. Those are the only two platforms it has ever shipped on.
Why V Rising Stays Platform-Locked
Stunlock has never formally explained the lack of crossplay, but the design and update history make the likely reasons clear:
- PvP-first design. V Rising's clan-vs-clan combat, castle siege, and base raiding are skill-tested in real time. Mouse-and-keyboard aim plus full hotbar access give PC players a measurable edge over controller players in the active-combat phases, so mixing inputs in one pool raises fairness problems.
- Modding ecosystem. PC has BepInEx, Wetstone, and a deep server-side mod community. Cosmetic, gameplay-tuning, and quality-of-life mods all live on PC. The PS5 build is vanilla and cannot run them.
- Patch cadence. During active development, Stunlock pushed balance and content patches to PC quickly, while console builds went through certification first. A unified pool would have forced one side to wait for the other.
- Development is finished. In March 2026 Stunlock declared V Rising content-complete and moved its team to a new game set in the same universe. With no further feature work planned, adding crossplay is no longer on the table.
Console Edition Status
PS5 (launched June 11, 2024)
The PS5 edition shipped with feature parity to PC's 1.0 release. PS5 players have their own server browser, their own progression, and no path to PC content. There is no save transfer between PS5 and PC.
Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch: not happening
There is no Xbox or Nintendo Switch version of V Rising, and none is planned. In April 2026, after announcing the end of content development, a Stunlock representative stated: "we don't have any plans to port V Rising to any additional platforms at this time," directly addressing Xbox and Switch 2. V Rising remains a PC-and-PS5-only title.

PC Steam dedicated server
The standard self-hosted setup. Stunlock ships both Linux and Windows dedicated server builds. Default 40 players (configurable higher), full mod support (BepInEx, Wetstone, etc.), private or public server browser listing. Accepts Steam clients only.
PS5 dedicated server
The PS5 edition has its own dedicated server program with its own setup instructions. Vanilla only, no mods. Accepts PS5 clients only.
Mixed PC and PS5 group
No supported path. The two platforms cannot share a world or session under any official setup. Groups in this position run two parallel servers (one PC, one PS5) and treat them as separate communities.

Is V Rising crossplay?
No. V Rising has no crossplay. PC (Steam) and PS5 are isolated server pools, and you can only play with people on the same platform you own the game on.
Will V Rising ever support PC-PS5 crossplay?
