ARK: Survival Ascended — Creative Mode Command

Creative mode in ASA gives you flight, instant crafting, and no resource costs — useful for builders, event admins, and anyone testing structural integrity before committing to a real raid base. The command is single-player friendly and requires server admin auth on multiplayer.

Step 1: Enable Console Access

The first time you want console access:

1. Press Esc in-game (or Start on consoles).
2. Open Options > Settings.
3. Set Console Access to On.
4. Save and exit.

Now press ~ (PC) or the platform combo (RB+LB+Y+X on Xbox, R1+L1+Triangle+Square on PS5) to open the console.

Step 2: Authenticate (Multiplayer Only)

Single-player saves give you cheat access automatically. On a multiplayer server you must first run:

EnableCheats <your_admin_password>

Cheats reset on disconnect — re-authenticate every session.

Step 3: Run the Creative Mode Command

Three variants — pick based on who you're enabling:

What Creative Mode Actually Does

• Free flight — fly anywhere without a creature. Click and hold thrust to ascend, gravity off.
• Instant crafting — every recipe completes in 0 seconds.
• No resource cost — all items are free to craft, regardless of inventory contents.
• Building snap-mode is unrestricted — place any structure anywhere; structural integrity is bypassed.
• God mode + InfiniteWeight + InfiniteStats are bundled in — survival/health systems are off.

Common Use Cases

1. Test a base design before spending hours gathering Hardened Brick.
2. Run a building event on a community server — give creative to the participating players, normal mode to spectators.
3. Spawn-test a custom map mod as the admin — verify resource densities and spawn rates without grinding.
4. Recover a base after a server-side bug — rapidly rebuild walls/ceilings without re-grinding materials.

Find a Player's Player ID (for GCMP)

Three ways:

• Run ListPlayers in the console — outputs each connected player and their Player ID.
• Open the in-game cheat ShowMyAdminManager panel — IDs visible per player row.
• Check server log files — every connect/disconnect event includes the Player ID.

Disabling Creative Mode

Run the same command again on the target. Examples:

# You're in creative mode, want out
cheat GiveCreativeMode

# Targeting another player to disable theirs
cheat GiveCreativeModeToTarget

Common Mistakes

• "Console doesn't open" — Console Access option is OFF in your settings, OR (multiplayer) you haven't run EnableCheats yet.
• "GCM does nothing" — you forgot the cheat prefix. On multiplayer servers ALL admin commands require the cheat prefix; the short forms (GCM, GCMT) bake it in but the long forms don't.
• "Targeting myself with GCMT" — GCMT requires you to be looking at another player. Use plain GCM for self.
• "Player kicked themselves with GCM" — anti-cheat may flag suspicious flight. Verify your server has Battle-Eye disabled or whitelisted.
• "Building doesn't snap right in creative" — creative mode bypasses structural integrity checks but the snap-grid is still active. Use the rotate keys to align.
